Islay by bad weather |
17.08.2003 |
we thougt that it could be longer ,but after a few miles rowing, like 12 , the wind came and helped us to pass some interesting passages, betweens islands with strong streams.. leading us through the third strongest wirlpol that with sailed with a good wind, 6 kt and some scarry feelings while the sea was "boiling" around us... we was in just when the currents was at it's strongest time...
after that, with stil a good wind, we sailed some 25 more miles, heading for Craighouse, that we reached late at night.
next day, rowing 18 miles to reach Port Ellen, some seals, no wind, irland is in sight...
but today, the wind don't want to let us go there and the weather reports for the week is as well, force 4 increasing to 6 just from the south west, where irland is...
but ther e is some intersting things to visit here in Islay, like 6 distilery, standing stones and else..
maybe a ceiligh this evening...
