Ardglass.

11.09.2003

We left Larne for Bangor, and reach it after some little scary parts when wwe tryed to put Fenrir in a marine cave and manage to do it...
Bangor is a huge marina, with a lot of classy yacht.
In the mornbing as the wind was not convenient(as often...) we went on town but people there was quiet unfriendly and very cold, we visited the heritage centre and hide ourself in a cinema to watch "Pirates".
We rowed then from Bangor to Ballyhalbert where we have been welcome in norvegian by a familly who took us for a dinner and to sleep in a bed, we also got a nice shower and nice talk.
we left in the morning in a good wind that turn quikly into bad wind, and after a full day sailing and 22 miles covered, we turn back and hide in a harbour just 2 miles away from Ballyhalbert...
Fenrir was more sliding on petrol than water in this big fishing harbour...
When the familly heard about our location, they came to pick us up and we was again safe, well feeded and confortable for another evening
we left their confortable plasce in a very early morning, rowing for Ardglass in a strange tide, not according to any of ouor time tables, but finally a good wind helped us to reach the shelter of this harbour, making a proud incoming under sail in a place where there is two viking longship!
No needs to argue about the price here, thanks you all, we will go for the week end in Swords for a viking events near Dublin while the sdhip stay in Ardglass, then sail further south down ther East coast maybe to Dublin, maybe more...
